Oval PASSED sticker similar to this was attached to virtually all camera equipment exported from Japan between the 1950s to the mid-1980s. JCII stands for Japan Camera Industry Institute, and JMDC for Japan Machinery Design Center. These stickers were attached to camera products that satisfied minimal quality requirements and were not blatant copies of German camera products of the time.

Designed as a Rolleiflex copy (and doing a darned good job of it), the Mat-124 G features a four-element, 80mm f/3.5 lens set of the better “Yashinon” variety, shutter speeds from 1-second to 1/500th, an aperture range of f/3.5 – f/32, a bright ground-glass viewing screen, a crank arm film advance, and ergonomic aperture/shutter controls. The Cetro-phot is a simple medium format viewfinder 120 film camera debuted by Certo-Kamera-Werk (Gönna & Söhne) in 1958. The camera was constructed of all metal, with nickel hardware and covered in seal grain leather. Lens: simple meniscus lens type, Achromat 75mm f/8.Aperture: holes on sliding disc, f/8 and f/11. Focusing: zone focusing via the ring on the lens, scale for flash distance, and aperture. Focus range: 1.5-10m +inf. Shutter: one speed, spring-loaded rotary shutter, bulb (B), and moment (M) around 1/50. Features included an optical viewfinder, double exposure prevention, top-mounted synchronized flash attachment, and a tripod socket.
