Petri 7s film camera, made by Kuribayashi Camera Industry Inc, 1963. Petri 7S 35mm rangefinder film camera sporting the PETRI 45mm f/1.8 fast prime amber-coated fixed lens. The camera’s uniqueness is its exposure meter design. Called the Circle-Eye exposure system, the lens is completely surrounded by a selenium cell (ATL) for light metering providing very accurate light readings. The readings can be viewed conveniently in two places, on top the camera’s top plate and through the viewfinder. This vintage item remains fully functional in perfect working order.

Agfa Silette-L 35mm film camera. Has a Color Agnar 45mm f/2.8 lens and a Prontor 125 shutter. The shutter speeds are B, 1/30, 1/60, and 1/125 sec. Not exactly a big range to choose from, but certainly workable. The minimum aperture is f/22. The Selenium meter is read from the top deck of the camera, and adjusting the dial to the left of the match needle to center the needle gives you the shutter speed/aperture combination to set the exposure to. Smena -8M film camera manual 35mm shootbox, 1970’s, made in the USSR. Has a coated “Triplet” lens that delivers nice saturation and contrast. Lens: three element triplet lens, the T-43. Exposure: exposure controls are all on the lens, which allows for apertures from f/4 though to f/16. Interestingly the apertures are also the ISO control. Nikon EM SLR film camera. Manufacturer by Nippon Kogaku K. K. Made in Japan, 1979. The Nikon EM is an electromechanically-controlled manual focus SLR powered by two S76/A76 cells or one 1/3N battery. Since it is made for amateur photographers, it is lighter (thanks to its polycarbonate top and bottom covers and copper-aluminum alloy body), less bulky, and is far simpler to use. It has aperture priority, semi-automatic exposure control powered by a 60/40 center-weighted silicon light meter and a viewfinder that has a needle that indicated the exposure on a shutter speed scale.
