Introduced in 1963, the 35 mm half-frame Agfa Paramat was the automatic version of the Agfa Parat-I, both belonging to the Parat series of cameras.

Agfa Paramat viewfinder 35mm film camera made in Germany, since 1963. The Paramat has only one shutter speed, and the aperture is set/controlled by a CdS exposure meter activated by half-pressing the shutter. A green indicator in the viewfinder and top plate indicates correct exposure and red for underexposure. Lens: Apotar 30mm 2.8. Focus: Manual. Tripod socket. The camera was constructed of all metal, with nickel hardware and covered in seal grain leather. Lens: simple meniscus lens type, Achromat 75mm f/8.Aperture: holes on sliding disc, f/8 and f/11. Focusing: zone focusing via the ring on the lens, scale for flash distance, and aperture. Focus range: 1.5-10m +inf. Since it is made for amateur photographers, it is lighter (thanks to its polycarbonate top and bottom covers and copper-aluminum alloy body), less bulky, and is far simpler to use. It has aperture priority, semi-automatic exposure control powered by a 60/40 center-weighted silicon light meter and a viewfinder that has a needle that indicated the exposure on a shutter speed scale.
